The Middle East will host the FIFA World Cup 2022 for the first time, from November 20 to December 18, 2022. The event will take place in eight stadiums spread across five towns in Qatar: Lusall, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and Doha.

Ecuador Soccer Team 2022 Captain: Enner Valencia
Enner Remberto Valencia Lastra plays forward for both the Ecuadorian national team and Turkish club Fenerbahçe. Valencia previously represented Emelec in Ecuador, where he won the 2013 Ecuadorian Serie A and the Golden Boot Copa Sudamericana. Since his debut in 2012, Valencia has earned more than 70 caps for Ecuador at the international level. The team qualified for its first World Cup in 2002. But they did not do well enough to advance to the knockouts. Their group consisted of Italy, Mexico, and Croatia.
