Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report
The pitch of Arun Jaitley stadium is batter friendly. Many batting records were made on this pitch. The most famous record is Sunil Gavaskar equalling the record of Sir Donald Bradman of the most number of test centuries. Interestingly, in 2005, Sachin Tendulkar went past Gavaskar’s record here. He made history by scoring his 35th century against Sri Lanka. At the beginning of any cricket match, on the pitch of this stadium light grass can be seen and batters have to be careful while playing against swing bowling. However, after the initial session, batting becomes easier and big runs can be scored.
The dew factor makes it difficult to bowl during the winter season, especially in the second innings. Spin bowlers get help from the pitch in the first innings. In IPL, the team chasing the score won more matches than the team batting first. The team that bowled first won three out of the last 5 IPL matches at this ground. The team batting first won 2 games. So we infer that both innings get almost the same runs, but the team chasing the score mostly wins the match.
How To Analyse The Betting Pitch of Arun Jaitley Stadium

- Look at the grass on the surface of the pitch: If the pitch has a lot of grass on it, it will offer more assistance to the bowlers, while if the grass is sparse, it will offer more assistance to the batsmen.
- Look at the cracks on the surface of the pitch: If the cracks are wide and deep, it will offer more assistance to the bowlers, while if the cracks are shallow and narrow, it will offer more assistance to the batsmen.
- Look at the wear and tear on the surface of the pitch: If the surface of the pitch shows signs of wear and tear, it will offer more assistance to the bowlers, while if the surface is relatively new, it will offer more assistance to the batsmen.
