Suryakumar Yadav is a consistent player who is currently ranked number 1 in T20 cricket. Nicknamed SKY, he made his one-day international debut in 2021 against Sri Lanka. He plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and the Mumbai domestic cricket team. His consistent performance has made him one of the premium white-ball batsmen in India.
In March 2021, Yadav made his T20 debut for the Indian team against England. He hit a six in his first match at the first ball he faced. He is the first Indian to do that in T20 cricket. Yadav received his first IPL contract in 2012 from Mumbai Indians. He was bought at Rs 10 lakhs. However, he played only one match in IPL 2012 season and was dismissed. He missed the IPL 2013 season. In IPL 2014, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders. He gave a match-winning performance in IPL 2015, scoring 45 runs off 20 balls against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens. He went on to become the vice-captain of KKR. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was bought back by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crores.
