Dinesh Karthik is a right-handed batsman and wicket keeper of the Indian and Tamil Nadu teams. He has been playing cricket for more than twenty years now. He has played all 15 seasons of the Indian Premier League. In IPL 2023, Dinesh Karthik will play for team. Karthik started his IPL career in 2008 as part of the Delhi Daredevils team. His initial salary was Rs 2.10 crores. He played three IPL seasons for Delhi Daredevils and then moved on to Kings XI Punjab. He played with them for only one season and moved to Mumbai Indians. He was part of the winning team. Delhi Daredevils repurchased Karthik for a whopping amount of Rs 12.5 crores in 2014. However, within a year, he was released. In the IPL 2015 auction, he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played for one season and moved to play for Gujarat Lions and . He was the Kolkata Knight Riders team captain between 2018-2020. In 2022, he moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dinesh Karthik made his debut in 2004. He is currently the captain of the Tamil Nadu cricket team. He is the fourth batsman to have played in 300 T20 matches.
Dinesh Karthik made his cricket commentary debut in March 2021. Dinesh Karthik and former captain Sunil Gavaskar were the only two Indians in the on-ground commentary team for the ICC World Test Championship final played between India and New Zealand in Southampton. He was also part of the commentary team during the England-Sri Lanka T20I and ODI series held in July 2021.

Bet on Dinesh Karthik on Fun88 this IPL 2023 Season!
Karthik was bought by Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) for INR 2.1 crore in IPL 2008 and played in the first three seasons for Daredevils. Karthik played for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2011 before moving to Mumbai Indians in the next season. He was with Mumbai Indians until 2013 when the latter won its first title in IPL. It was the only instance for Karthik to be part of an IPL-winning side throughout his IPL career. Karthik returned to the Delhi outfit after the franchise shelved out a whopping amount of INR 12.50 crore to acquire the services of the Tamil Nadu player for IPL 2014. Delhi Daredevils released him ahead of the 2015 IPL auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Karthik for INR 10.50 crores, but he was dropped from the squad for the next season due to a poor show with the bat - 141 runs in 11 innings. Karthik joined Gujarat Lions and played for them from 2016 to 2017. He left as the franchise was dissolved. Kolkata Knight Riders roped in Karthik in IPL 2018 auction for INR 7.4 crore. He was appointed KKR's new captain after Gautam Gambhir shifted to Delhi Daredevils. After leading the two-time IPL winners for 37 matches in more than two seasons, Karthik stepped down from the captaincy role in the middle of IPL 2020 in UAE. In the IPL mega auction of 2022, Karthik was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KKR released Karthik ahead of the 2022 IPL mega auction. He got his second stint with RCB after the franchise re-purchased him for INR 5.50 crore. He made a remarkable turnaround with the bat, scoring 330 runs at a strike rate of 183.33 to earn a surprising call back to the Indian T20I side. Karthik scored 4376 runs in 208 IPL innings at an average of 26.85 and a strike rate of 132.65 with 20 half-centuries. Karthik's best season with the bat was in IPL 2013 for Mumbai Indians, when he scored 510 runs in 19 matches.
