Deepak Chahar’s career graph so far can be tracked as the following pattern: rejection at 16, a prodigy at 18 and oblivion at 24. Greg Chappell could fathom how talented this young fast bowler was in 2008. Soon thereafter, he rose to recognition by picking up 8 wickets in his debut innings. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) brought back Fast-bowler Deepak Chahar for Rs 14 crore through IPL 2022 mega auction. 29-year-old Deepak, the second most expensive cricketer of IPL 2022, injured his right quadriceps during the T20 with West Indies on the other side. Chahar could not play in IPL 2022 due to this injury.
Chahar had sparked a bidding war between multiple franchises before CSK got him. He was expected to attract interest from many teams, but such a high stake was not foreseen.
