South African left-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper, David Andrew Miller, is well-known for his power-hitting on the field. He first made his debut for the Dolphins in the 2007-08 season and averaged only 12.33 in that season as the Dolphins finished in the fifth position.
Later in 2009-10, he managed to perform well and finished with 374 runs; the results, however, didn't go in his team's favor. He carried on his excellent form against Bangladesh 'A' by scoring 195 runs in five games at an average of 65. Miller's consistent performance on the field helped him earn his position on the South African team for the West Indies tour in 2010, and he later made his T20I debut at North Sound, Antigua.
Miller has played cricket for teams like Punjab Kings, Dolphins, and Chittagong Kings; he also announced in 2018 that he wouldn't be playing first-class cricket. He had a good batting average and batted for 54 out of just 41 balls in one game against Yorkshire. David Miller made his first-class debut for the Dolphins at 17 in the 2007-08 season, scoring a half-century in the initial innings. He made eight appearances during a one-day MTN Domestic Championship of the same season and scored an average of 13 runs. Miller was selected in the South African ‘A’ team and was the 2nd highest run scorer when they played against Bangladesh ‘A’ team. His steady performance earned him a place in the South African national team for the 2010 West Indies tour.
The team failed to reach the semi-final of the 2010 . However, the search for a new bunch of players was on as South Africa was in the process of rebuilding after finishing at the bottom of the ICC T20I rankings. Miller was among those considered, and he made his T20 international debut in May 2010 at North Sound, Antigua, and smashed 33 off 26 balls and helped Africa win the match by just one run. In 2017, he scored his first T20I hundred against and the fastest T20I hundred in 35 balls.
Punjab Kings paid Miller $100,000 to play in the 2011 season, but he did not play in a single game. However, Miller was signed for the second time in 2013 and performed exceptionally well by scoring the third fastest century in IPL history (101* in 38 balls).
David Miller is known as Killer Miller by his fans because of his batting average. The team did not retain him during the 2018 IPL retention.
